DF-T-25

Digital Filter Adapter for Teac VRDS-25 and 25X

Replaces SM 5843 Digital Filter by NPC with more modern and higher quality DF 1704. Includes onboard soldering pads that allow it to be configured for all input / output formats and wordlenghts that are supported by DF 1704. Such flexibility allows it to communicate to our SRC-T-25 Adapter at full 24 Bits, thus fully preserving the signal integrity, unlike the original SM 5843, which simply ignores (!) information contained in lower 4 Bits received from AD 1893 SRC. Filter Roll-off is also changable. This adapter is designed for Teac VRDS-25 and 25X CD Players only and is not compatible with other models or makes.

 

DF-NPC-13

SM 5813 / DF 1700 Digital Filter Adapter

Replaces either SM 5813 by NPC or DF 1700 by Burr-Brown with more modern DF 1704. (Both IC's, DF 1700 and SM 5813 are, in fact, identical, just differently branded.) Deemphasis and mute of DF 1704 are deactivated, but other functions, such as input / output format, wordlenght as well as filter roll-off are configurable. For applications where DF 1700 is reset by external capacitor on Pin 14, the onboard reset is provided, which could be used to simultaneously reset other devices as well. Supports all features of the DF 1704, which, in some cases, allows to upgrade existing equipment to full 24 / 96 Specs. (Parasound 1xxx Series DAC's, for example)

 

DF-NPC-43

SM 5843 Digital Filter Adapter

Replaces SM 5843 Digital Filter by NPC in applications where it receives its input Data in 20 Bit Mode on pins 5 and 10 simultaneously. Could be used as pin for pin SM 5843 replacement in Teac VRDS-8 CD Player and D-3 D/A Converter, as well as any other unit that uses SM 5843 in this Input Mode. For all other Modes (Data Input on Pin 1) we recommend using DF-UNV. Includes onboard soldering pads that allow it to be configured for all input / output formats and wordlenghts that are supported by DF 1704. Filter roll-off status reflects that of the original SM 5843 settings - there's no configuration pad for this function.

 

DF-PMD

PMD100 Digital Filter Adapter

Replaces PMD 100 Digital Filter by Pacific Microsonics and gives the user opportunity to experience the sound of the slow roll-off digital filter response of the DF 1704. It also doesn't lose one Bit of resolution on non HDCD records which is otherwise occupied by HDCD code in PMD 100 and, in some cases, allows to upgrade existing equipment to full 24 / 96 Specs. Includes onboard soldering pads for input / output format and wordlenght setting.

 

DF-UNV

DF1704 Universal Adapter

Replaces SM 5803 Digital Filter by NPC in most cases (application specific) and is also suitable for D.I.Y. projects or prototyping work. Pin for pin compatibility with SM 5803 is preserved as much as possible. All other functions, such as input / output format, wordlenght as well as filter roll-off are configurable by various soldering pads. Supports all Hardware Mode features of the DF 1704. Includes flexible onboard reset and mute circuitry.

 

DF-NPC-40

SM 5840 / SM 5841 Digital Filter Adapter

This adapter board "sandwich" replaces either SM 5840 or SM 5841 Digital Filters in 18 Pin DIP package. Although a bit more difficult to implement than our other upgrades, quality gain over SM 5840 / 41 offered by this upgrade is huge. Target applications include Teac VRDS-7, VRDS-9, VRDS-10 and VRDS-20 CD Players and other equipment that uses this cheap filter IC. Includes onboard soldering pads for input / output format, wordlenght, filter roll-off and various mute settings. Additional inverted CKO output is also provided, which could be activated / deactivated on demand.

All Digital Filter Adapters incorporate additional onboard Power Supply Decoupling by Black Gate NX Hi-Q Series Capacitors

 

Sample Rate Converters

SRC-T-25

SRC Teac VRDS-25

Replaces 'Low-Cost' Sample Rate Converter AD1893 from Analog Devices with their latest generation and much better sounding AD1896. Includes onboard soldering pads that allow it to be configured for all input and output formats and wordlenghts that are supported by AD1896 in Slave Mode. Output Data could be correctly dithered down to 20 Bits if used in conjunction with original SM 5843 Digital Filter or supplied at full 24 Bit wordlenght if used together with our DF-T-25 Adapter. This adapter is designed for Teac VRDS-25 and 25X CD Players only and is not compatible with other models or makes.

SRC Teac VRDS-8

Same as above, but designed to upgrade SRC in Teac VRDS-8 CD Player.

 

SRC-UNV

SRC 1896 Universal Adapter

This adapter could be used in place of either AD1890, AD1891 or AD1893. It is made to be pin compatible with all three types with the minor exception is that it does not support WDCLK (2 x Fs) input or output. Please check your application before ordering. All input and output formats and wordlenghts that are supported by AD1896 in Slave Mode could be freely configured by onboard soldering pads. Includes onboard Voltage Regulator and Reset Circuitry that could be used to reset external devices as well. Suited for D.I.Y. Projects and prototyping as well (Slave Mode only).

CS-14-24

CS 8414 24 Bit Output Special Adapter

This adapter replaces CS 8412 Digital Input Receiver with the newer, 96 kHz compatible CS 8414. It is not a simple SOIC to DIP adapter - it was developed to complement our Digital Filter upgrades for Parasound D / A Converters and includes various necessary enhancements, such as Rising Edge BCK (Bit Clock) output and buffered MCK (Master Clock) output. Reset circuit, required for CS 8414 configuration at start-up (as recommended by Crystal), is provided as well. Output wordlenght is fixed to 24 Bits, Left Justified, Format O. Analog Power Supply decoupled with Black Gate NX Hi-Q Series Capacitor.

Adapter also could be used in other equipment if the Digital Filter IC following it supports 24 Bit, Left Justified input and at 96 kHz if Digital Filter and D / A Converter IC's can operate at 24 MHz Master Clock

 

YM-14-24

Upgrade for Yamaha YM3623 Digital Receiver

This unique adapter replaces the 16 Bit limited and relatively jitter prone YM3623 with the 24 / 96 kHz compatible CS 8414. It was developed to complement our Digital Filter upgrades for the first generation of Audio Note D / A Converters. Depending on the surrounding circuitry, might work in other products too.

 

DIP-CS8414

CS 8414 SOIC to DIP Adapter Board

This adapter replaces CS 8412 Digital Input Receiver with the newer, 96 kHz compatible CS 8414. Could be used in all DAC's incorporating CS 8412 to permit 96 kHz operation. Perfect solution for prototyping work and D.I.Y. projects.
